The Community Foundation of Red Bud initiated a community tree-planting project by submitting a grant application for funding from the Sol System Community Impact Grant is partnership with the Southern Illinois Community Foundation. Sol Systems is a leading national solar energy firm and owner-operator of The Eldorado Solar Project in Saline County, Illinois.
The Community Foundation of Red Bud was awarded a $4500 grant and used this money to help with the purchase of 20 trees from The Davey Tree Expert Company. In cooperation with the City of Red Bud Parks and Recreation Committee, the trees have recently been planted throughout Ratz Park.

The sign post was refurbished and repainted by members of the parks committee. The sign was made by Bob Sale of DE Signs. The Community Foundation of Red Bud is always looking for projects that will benefit larger segments of the City population.  The Foundation was happy to be involved as Ratz Park is available to and used by many in the community.
